Announcement: Shirt Designs

June 19, 2008

Kumusta na ang tanan? 🙂

Just some quick shirt announcements for all: If we stick to the original timetable, we only have roughly two weeks to decide on the shirt design.  So far there was only one suggested design.  We urge designers and creative people to send ideas and mail to ids98.reunion@yahoo.com and to Mr. Jonas Escanillan (kewln4s1@yahoo.com).  You can also ask designer friends if they’re willing to share ideas for our shirt design.  Please send high resolution images.  🙂

IDS Dekada: Theme and Tentative Sked

May 14, 2008

Theme for our 10th Year Reunion is IDS’98 DEKADA: DEcade after, still a barKADA.  Shirt designs are now welcome.  Jonas will head the shirt printing, and as planned by June we should have a design available.  For the designs, you could play around with the number 10, the word Dekada, or the complete theme itself.

Here is the tentative schedule for the reunion preparation.  Click on the image to see large version.

Please email shirt designs to Jonas (kewln4s1@yahoo.com) and ids98.reunion@yahoo.com.

• Do you think the Shirt/s and Button Pins are enough as souvenirs?  Or you want something else?  People want “unique” and “worth keeping” items.
• Aside from our souvenirs, do you guys want other merchandise for the reunion, such as bags, mugs, and magnets?
• What color for the shirts do you want?
• Is everyone okay with the proposed theme “IDS98 PORMANG SIKAT: Better and Stronger on its 10th Year”?  Once we finalize the theme, we can start asking for shirt design suggestions.
• Comments?  Violent reactions?  🙂

Official minutes of meeting will be shared in the E-group soon.  Separate survey for shirt designs and program details will be made.

PLEASE POST ONLY QUESTION ANSWERS, REUNION EVENT COMMENTS, AND CLARIFICATIONS IN THIS THREAD SO THE ORGANIZERS CAN TRACK THEM EASILY.

Survey #1: Headcount!

April 5, 2008

Everyone,

Anytime soon, Wilbert, Marc Allen, Marites, Balut, and some folks in Iligan will be starting their meetings and survey on the venue – the price, number of hours (til when pwede magstay), equipment (pwede ba magrent or setup ug projector, screen, sound system), food (naa ba sila inhouse caterer, other food options), etc.  So far ang options are the private house with pool mentioned by Christian, a cottage in a nearby beach, Timoga, and a bar/function room in the city.  I believe ang first two options (private house and beach) are the priority right now.

In connection with this, we need to know the probable number of people who *might* make it to the reunion.  Among the two options below, comment which one is more fit to your status.  You can also comment on behalf of other batchmates who barely go online.  Also, please include the location along with the names (apil surname ha hehe)  🙂

Note that venue is somewhere in Iligan, and date is December 29, 2008.

Option 1: There’s a big chance I might go to the reunion!! 🙂

So far:

Total replies: 134 (55%)
Might go: 116
Might not go: 18

We have a total of 244 members sa batch.  Hopefully by end of April makareply 80% of the batch, so the people in Iligan will have an idea on how to budget things.  🙂

Happy Long Weekend!!!

9 months to go!

March 17, 2008

The first quarter of 2008 is almost over and we still don’t have a final concept for our reunion.  We encourage everyone to post their comments after this entry.

Date.  So far, December 29 has been agreed by most people.  Overnight man or dili, 29 is a good date since the day following it would be a holiday (Rizal Day).  And of course, many of our batchmates based outside the city will be in Iligan because of the Christmas season.

Venue.  So far we have two choices on where to hold the reunion – either sa City or sa Beach.  Either way, we need people to scout a good place.  There were early suggestions of Duka Bay and Initao, pero murag dili na feasible because of the price and distance.  Either we rent a place sa city (bar or function room), or rent a big cottage in a nearby beach, or better, if a kind batchmate offers his house for the reunion.  Things to consider: beach might be cheaper, but city is more accessible, and more people can stay late in the city than the beach.  J

Budget.  How much is everyone willing to pay?  Is P300 to P500 range enough?  This will cover the food and venue.  We’re also hoping that the successful ones who couldn’t make it to the reunion will donate some cash.

Some notes:

  • Christian actually offered that her company takes care of the venue, food, lights, etc.  This is really good news since we have a point person in Iligan to look for a good and affordable place and equipment.  Hi Christian!  If you can post what kind of services your company can offer, please put them in the comments below.  And if you can give estimate quotations as well, since you have a rough idea of the Iligan market.  J

  • The Grand Alumni Homecoming.  If I remember correctly, the silver batch (1983) sponsors the homecoming, and the 10th year batch (1998) is required to help.  Is this correct?  Who among the people in Iligan can help out the silver batch?  Would you guys know what kind of help they’re expecting?

  • As suggested by other people in the e-group, should we consider other activities for our reunion?  Somebody mentioned charity work.  Personally I don’t think this is feasible, but if a lot of people can volunteer, then maybe we can do this.

Other inputs?  We encourage everyone to post their views and comments regarding the date, venue, budget, etc.  The list of batchmates with contact details is still with Balut and Cyril, and after they update the file, it will be posted in this website.

Have a holy Holy Week everyone!
